Regarding the information that people lost hundreds of millions of dong when investing in the fake MoMo Pro application, the super application MoMo has official information about the incident.
Speaking to a reporter from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper late on May 20, MoMo confirmed that it does not offer any "high-profit fund package" products, nor does it require users to transfer money to their personal accounts. MoMo only has one application, officially released on the App Store and Google Play under the name MoMo - Financial Assistant with AI.
"The application named "MoMo Pro" is completely fake and is not an official product of MoMo. This is an act of taking advantage of the brand to carry out fraudulent activities. Currently, MoMo is actively reviewing and closely coordinating with authorities to report and strictly handle all acts of brand counterfeiting to defraud users" - the representative of the super application with more than 30 million users informed.

MoMo also recommends that users need to be vigilant, carefully check information sources and contact official channels when needing support such as: 24/7 Hotline: 1900 5454 41, Help Center in the application or website https://www.momo.vn/.
Previously, according to information from Hanoi City Police, recently, Mr. H (born in 1991; residing in Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) reported being scammed for 330 million VND. According to the report, Mr. H received a message via Messenger application with the content of the winning code notification from the MoMo Pro application, which has the same interface as the MoMo application.
Because of trust, Mr. H downloaded the MoMo Pro application and logged in to receive the reward. After that, the subjects invited him to participate in the MoMo Pro investment fund system, each time he deposited money to participate in a transaction, he would receive a profit of up to 50% compared to the invested capital.
Believing him, Mr. H made three deposits, totaling 330 million VND. However, when he tried to withdraw money, the system suddenly reported an error and asked him to deposit another 330 million VND before he could withdraw the invested amount. At this point, Mr. H realized he had been scammed and went to the police to report it.
People need to carefully research legitimate online payment applications, and not log in to strange links that require downloading applications to use...
To prevent fraud, Hanoi City Police recommends that currently, the MoMo application does not have an upgraded version called "MoMo Pro". People should not participate in groups that "call for investment" on the Internet. Always be vigilant against investment invitations with high interest rates that may be tricks of scammers.
Do not participate in financial transactions of unknown origin, especially those with promises of high profits or attractive investment opportunities, to avoid the risk of property damage and unfortunate incidents...
