On the afternoon of May 17, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong received Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar, Secretary of the National Security Council of Mongolia and the delegation who are on a working visit to Vietnam.
On behalf of the State and people of Vietnam, President Vo Van Thuong warmly welcomed Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar and the high-ranking delegation of the National Security Council of Mongolia to visit and work in Vietnam; highly appreciated the results of the delegation's work with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies of Vietnam.
Conveying his regards and greetings to Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, the President recalled his good impressions of his recent meeting with the President in London during his visit to attend the coronation of British King Charles III. The two sides acknowledged the achievements and discussed many contents to promote Vietnam-Mongolia cooperation in the coming time.
For his part, Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar expressed his joy at visiting the beautiful country of Vietnam, witnessing the strong and comprehensive development and change of Vietnam after his visit 13 years ago.
Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar affirmed that Mongolia is proud to be a friend of Vietnam - a country with increasingly growing international position and prestige in the region and the world . The people of the two countries have a deep understanding of each other on the basis of the long-standing traditional friendship established by the senior leaders of the two countries. The people of the two countries also regularly support and help each other in difficult times. Vietnam holds a very important position in Mongolia's foreign policy in the Southeast Asian region.
Respectfully conveying the regards, best wishes and invitation of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to President Vo Van Thuong to visit Mongolia, Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar said that President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh was pleased to have met and discussed with President Vo Van Thuong in London recently and wished to visit Vietnam soon.
Informing the President about the coordination with the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies of Vietnam, Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar emphasized that Mongolia wishes to expand and further enhance cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of transportation, railways, aviation, etc. In the context of complicated developments in the regional and world situation, the two countries need to cooperate closely to ensure security and order for the peaceful life of the people.
Appreciating the cooperation proposals of Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar and the delegation, President Vo Van Thuong stated that Vietnam and Mongolia are two traditional friends, and the people of the two countries have a long-standing close relationship. Over the past nearly 70 years, the friendly relations between the two countries have been continuously consolidated and strongly developed.

Thanking Mr. Jadamba Enkhbayar for conveying the invitation of President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to the President of Vietnam to visit Mongolia, President Vo Van Thuong said that, based on the important results of bilateral cooperation, the two countries will make joint efforts to promote the elevation of relations and more comprehensive cooperation in the new period.
To realize this goal, the President suggested that both sides promote delegation exchanges at both central and local levels; thereby enhancing mutual understanding and trust; and implement measures to create more favorable conditions for exchanges and mutual interactions between the two peoples. Vietnam wishes to welcome the President of Mongolia to visit Vietnam at an appropriate time.
The President welcomed the results of the coordination and proposed to further strengthen cooperation between the National Security Council of Mongolia and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam; thanked Mongolia for supporting Vietnam in building the Cavalry Mobile Police, which is highly appreciated by the people.
Vietnam also asked Mongolia to support the efforts of ASEAN and Vietnam to maintain peace, stability, cooperation and development, freedom and safety of navigation and aviation in the East Sea.
In the context of global and regional fluctuations, strengthening Vietnam-Mongolia relations is of great significance to the people of both countries. Vietnam welcomes and is ready to be a bridge to support Mongolia in expanding and strengthening relations with ASEAN for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
