It can be affirmed that this glorious victory was the result of a combination of many factors: the unity of courage and intellect; the creative application and development of Marxism-Leninism in accordance with the conditions and circumstances of Vietnam; the mature development of objective conditions and subjective factors, along with the prerequisites of revolutionary movements of the masses in the periods 1930-1931, 1936-1939, and 1939-1945; and especially the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh in uniting, gathering, and developing the strength of the great national unity with the spirit of "using our own strength to liberate ourselves"... all of which converged and erupted powerfully in those August days.

The victory of the August Revolution in 1945 marked a major turning point, ushering the Vietnamese nation into a new era – an era of national independence linked with socialism.

With the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, for the first time in the history of world revolutions, a Communist Party only 15 years old led the people to "overcome all difficulties and challenges," successfully carrying out a "earth-shattering" revolution, shattering the shackles and oppression of the colonial-feudal regime that had existed for nearly a hundred years, "cutting off the pain and humiliation of a people who had lost their country," transforming the Vietnamese people from slaves into masters of their own lives, and building a new social system, a socialist society.

From here, success followed success, victory followed victory, our army and people, united in spirit and courage, fought and defeated the two leading imperialist powers, France and the United States, built a new life, developed socio -economic conditions, and gradually carried out the process of reform, building and defending the Fatherland.

For the past 78 years, the immortal epic of 1945 has continued to be written with the blood, sweat, and tears of the nation. We have moved from one victory to another, achieving many great and historically significant accomplishments; the lives of the people have improved; and Vietnam's prestige and position have been increasingly enhanced on the international stage. This is entirely consistent with the affirmation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it does today."

This glorious reality not only affirms the immense scale, value, and significance of the August Revolution of 1945, but also confirms that the path of national independence and socialism chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and our people from the early years of the 20th century is entirely correct.

However, in the current process of national renewal, construction, and defense, alongside fundamental advantages, there are still many difficulties and challenges, especially the negative impacts from the downsides of the market mechanism, globalization, international integration, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution;... Along with that, hostile forces are intensifying their efforts to undermine our renewal process through schemes and tactics of "peaceful evolution," promoting "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the party, "depoliticizing" the military, and the decline in ideology, politics, morality, and lifestyle; corruption and negative behavior among a segment of cadres and party members...

The current situation demands that we deeply understand and further promote the precious values and significance of the August Revolution of 1945 in the new era, one of the most important tasks being the propaganda and education of all strata of the people, especially the younger generation, about the peace and independence that our forefathers built with their sweat, blood, and bones, and passed on to us.

As the war recedes further into the past, the task of educating the younger generation—the future owners of the country—becomes more important than ever. We must ensure that generations born in peacetime appreciate the past and the sacrifices of their ancestors, cultivating moral character that is both "red and expert," always possessing a sense of national pride and self-respect, diligently studying and promoting the essence, traditions, and patriotic spirit of their forefathers to build and consolidate national unity, creating positive changes in awareness and responsibility towards achieving national independence and socialism for a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Vietnam; standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's leading nations.

The more difficult the circumstances, the more we need to uphold the spirit of decisive victory, creatively applying the valuable lessons of the August Revolution on seizing opportunities to turn "danger into opportunity," steadfastly overcoming all difficulties and challenges, and resolutely and persistently striving to achieve the "seven dares" set forth by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. This is a measure of special importance to keep the flame of tradition burning, to rekindle faith, because "forgetting history," "denying the past," and "losing our roots" means losing everything. Therefore, thoroughly understanding and successfully implementing the two strategic tasks: building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation is a necessary and urgent task, a command of life and the call of the heart.

The August Revolution of 1945 brought land into the hands of the people. The task of today's generation is to develop the land and the achievements of subsequent revolutions by overcoming poverty and backwardness, promoting economic, cultural, and social development, linking economic, cultural, and social development with national defense, security, and foreign relations to build a strong and prosperous nation. Continuously improve the material and spiritual lives and physical health of cadres, soldiers, and the people; effectively implement the policy of "gratitude and repayment" for wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs, policies for the armed forces, military families, and those who have contributed to the revolution; and uphold the principle of "remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit."

For the past 78 years, the spirit of the August Revolution has remained a guiding light for the Vietnamese revolution; illuminating even the dark corners of hostile forces to expose their sinister conspiracies; helping today's generation recognize the truth; actively fighting to defeat the conspiracies, tactics, and activities of "peaceful evolution," promoting "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the party and "depoliticizing" the army; overcoming the decline in ideology, politics, morality, and lifestyle; continuing to build our State into an increasingly prosperous and strong nation, building an increasingly solid foundation of peace and independence, and making the lives of the people increasingly happy and prosperous.

Time may pass, but the glorious spirit of August remains forever bright. The historical and practical significance of the August Revolution of 1945 retains its value with precious lessons, the greatest of which is maintaining faith in the Party and the revolution, promoting the strength of national unity, and upholding independence, self-reliance, and creativity in theoretical thinking, especially applying and creatively developing Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought to steadfastly pursue the path of reform, avoiding rigid adherence to dogma and mechanical principles; striving to build Vietnam into a powerful and prosperous nation; and developing a prosperous and happy country.
