
According to the Hanoi Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quarter Management Board, in order to prevent the deterioration of heritage sites, ensure the safety of tourists, and preserve the unique cultural and historical values of the Old Quarter, the unit will carry out periodic restoration and renovation work. Therefore, some historical sites in the area will be temporarily closed during the restoration and renovation period.
Specifically, Quan Đế Temple (28 Hang Buom Street), which closed from May 20, 2025, is expected to reopen in January 2026.
The Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu Street) will close from July 1, 2025, and is expected to reopen to visitors from November 21, 2025.
The heritage house at 87 Ma May Street will close from July 1, 2025, and is expected to reopen on April 26, 2026.
The Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board stated that this restoration work not only contributes to preserving the long-standing cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi but also aims to enhance the quality of the visitor experience in the future. After the restoration is complete, the relics are expected to continue to be attractive destinations in the journey of exploring history, architecture, and traditional cultural life in the heart of the Old Quarter.
