Through a survey of revenue information from school websites, it can be said that Van Lang University has a much higher total revenue than many other schools, 1,758 billion VND. The school's main source of revenue is from tuition fees. Compared to 2020, which was 776 billion VND, 2021, which was 1,030 billion VND, the school's revenue in 2022 had a strong breakthrough.

Nguyen Tat Thanh University has a total revenue of 1,162.4 billion VND, of which 1,141 billion VND is from tuition fees. The university's scientific research and technology transfer activities in 2022 earned 10.6 billion VND.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology only has tuition revenue for all three levels of doctorate, master's and university in 2022 of 1,145 billion VND.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of the few northern universities with revenue of over 1,000 billion VND. Specifically, in 2022, the school reached 1,070.8 billion VND, of which the budget was 122.2 billion VND; tuition fees 851.2 billion VND; scientific research and technology transfer 7.01 billion VND; from other legal sources 90.39 billion VND.

Some schools with revenue from over 500 billion VND to under 1,000 billion VND include Hoa Sen University with 918 billion VND, of which tuition is 680 billion VND; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry with 843 billion VND, of which tuition alone is 740 billion VND; Hong Bang International University with total revenue of 886 billion, of which tuition is 822 billion VND; Foreign Trade University with over 750 billion VND, of which tuition is over 490 billion VND; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education with 785 billion VND, Hanoi University of Industry with 751 billion VND, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance with 507 billion VND...

Through the financial reports of the schools, it can be seen that the highest proportion of revenue is still from tuition fees. For public schools, in addition to tuition fees, there is also a budget source, while for private universities, almost 100% comes from tuition fees.

In addition, universities also have revenue from scientific research and technology transfer, other legal sources of income such as sponsorship from businesses, philanthropists... However, these sources do not account for much.
