MU is said not to sell Antony cheaply. |
According to UOL (Brazil), the "Red Devils" valued Antony at around 50 million pounds after receiving many offers from European clubs. Previously, the figure given by the Spanish media only fluctuated between 34 and 42 million pounds.
The winger is currently training separately and is considered surplus to requirements at Old Trafford. However, Antony has attracted huge interest after an impressive first-half season on loan at Real Betis, scoring nine goals and providing five assists as the Spanish side reached the Conference League final.
With that form, Antony quickly caught the attention of a series of teams such as Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, along with Newcastle and Brighton in the Premier League. Notably, Real Betis is Antony's preferred destination, but the biggest obstacle is the price that MU requires.
However, Antony is said to be willing to take a 30% pay cut on his current wages, around £150,000 a week, to leave Old Trafford this summer. Selling the winger for around £32.5m or more would help United avoid a loss under Premier League financial regulations.
Antony joined the Red Devils from Ajax for £86 million in 2022, but has never lived up to expectations at Old Trafford. After 96 games, he has only scored 12 goals and provided 5 assists - a modest figure for such an expensive deal.
