Football Meets Data reports that MU have earned 36.4 million euros (30.1 million pounds) in prize money from UEFA after reaching the Europa League final this year. After the second leg of the semi-final against Athletic Bilbao in the early morning of May 9, the "Red Devils" pocketed nearly 6 million pounds for reaching the final match of the tournament.

Under UEFA's prize money system, each team that takes part in the Europa League qualifying round will receive £3.6m. Each win in this round will earn the club nearly £380,000, while each draw will earn £126,400.

Teams that reach the knockout stages will receive £505,000, while those eliminated in the knockout play-off round will receive £252,000.

The prize money increases dramatically at the round of 16 stage, with teams eliminated at this stage receiving £1.47m. For those who reach the quarter-finals, the prize money rises to £2.11m.

The winners will receive nearly £11m in prize money, while the runners-up will pocket £5.9m. These bonuses account for just under 40% of the total prize money in the Europa League, which is focused on performance-based criteria. The rest of the prize money is split between participating clubs, including TV revenue.

The Europa League winners will be paid around half the prize money of the Champions League winners. PSG and Inter Milan, this year's Champions League finalists, have pocketed £125.8m and £115.9m respectively since the start of the tournament.

Although the prize money cannot be compared with the teams participating in the Champions League, MU and the clubs participating in the Europa League still have a great motivation to conquer the title in the European arena.

Bruno Fernandes shined on the day MU won big against Leicester. In the early morning of March 17, Bruno scored 1 goal and 2 assists to help MU defeat host Leicester 3-0 in round 29 of the Premier League.
