Signing Jayden Ngwashi on a four-year contract is a strategic move by Manchester United to secure the future of the team.

According to the Telegraph , the young centre-back has rejected numerous offers from clubs at home and abroad, committing his future to the “Red Devils” with a four-year contract. Under the management of INEOS and coach Ruben Amorim, Manchester United are placing a strong emphasis on developing young talent, and keeping Ngwashi is the latest example of this strategy.

The 16-year-old centre-back is considered one of the most promising talents in the Manchester United academy at the moment. As a result, Ngwashi has attracted the attention of many clubs at home and abroad thanks to his impressive performances in youth tournaments.

However, he chose to stay at Old Trafford, signing a four-year contract with a significant increase in salary, with the promise of a promotion to the first team next season. FourFourTwo believes that Ngwashi could play for United next season, if he continues to perform well in training.

Ngwashi featured for Manchester United's youth team in the Premier League two seasons ago, showing his potential as a centre-back with his reading of the game, outstanding physicality and impressive distribution skills.

Retaining Ngwashi is part of INEOS’ strategy to protect the club’s brightest young talent. Manchester United have always boasted a record of having at least one academy graduate in their squad for over 85 years, from Sir Matt Busby to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo in recent times. Ngwashi is expected to continue this tradition and become a mainstay in the future.
