Lamdongtv.vn - For the crime of illegal drug trafficking, defendant Bui Quang Vinh (55 years old), residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, was just sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Court in the first instance trial that just took place.

According to the indictment, Bui Quang Vinh has been a drug addict since 2017.

In July 2022, Vinh went to Da Lat City to rent a house from Ms. Nguyen Thi My Le in Ward 4 to live and run an accommodation service business. On February 13, 2024, Long, whose identity and background were unknown, came to stay at Vinh's facility and agreed to sell to Vinh all the drugs and drug paraphernalia, electronic scales, and packaging that Long currently had for 14 million VND.

After purchasing the drugs, Vinh divided them into small packages for use and hid them in the bedrooms with the intention of reselling the drugs to others for profit. On the afternoon of March 14, 2024, the police of Ward 4, Da Lat City inspected Vinh's accommodation and discovered many packages of drugs that Vinh had hidden in the bedrooms. During the interrogation at the Court, the defendant Vinh showed remorse and repentance. Considering that the defendant was sick, the Trial Panel sentenced Bui Quang Vinh to 15 years in prison for "Illegal trading of narcotics" and an additional fine of 30 million VND.
