Canada's Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said the strategy aims to change the way governments , communities and citizens work together to reduce the risks of climate change.
According to Reuters, the goals set include improving people's health, protecting nature and biodiversity, and building more resilient infrastructure.

The Canadian government predicts that by 2030, the average annual damage caused by natural disasters in the country will increase to 15.4 billion CAD (about 274,314 billion VND). The strategy comes as Canada battles its worst wildfire season ever, with at least 7.8 million hectares burned.
US media reported on June 27 that more than 80 million people from the Midwest to the East Coast of the country have been warned of poor air quality due to smoke from wildfires in neighboring Canada.
On the same day, the European Union's Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service said smoke from Canadian wildfires had spread to Europe the day before. According to Copernicus, this year's wildfire season in Canada has released a record amount of carbon emissions - up to 160 million tons (as of June 26).
