Specifically, the Khe Tien bridge abutment at Km5+200 was eroded and washed away with an area of about 3.7x2.5m 2 ; the road surface and slope at Km23+450 were eroded and the slope was washed away deep into the roadbed, creating a frog-shaped area with a damaged area of about 4.5x66m 2 ; at the spillway location at Km25+750, a 30m-long roadbed was eroded, causing the movement of people and vehicles passing through here to be completely blocked. In addition, at Km22 to Km25, landslides appeared, causing a large amount of soil and rock to spill onto the roadway.
According to Chairman of Ben Quan Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai, in the above-mentioned area, in 2024, floods also caused serious damage to many locations and have just been repaired. Currently, people have to temporarily travel by cutting through trails and self-made paths if there is a real need.
According to information from the Traffic Management and Maintenance Board under the Department of Construction, due to the impact of storm No. 6, as of 2:00 p.m. on August 30, in addition to the above-mentioned provincial road 571, the water level on provincial road 588a at the Ba Long-Km11+240 spillway was still about 40cm deep, causing traffic congestion. To ensure safety, the unit has assigned people to set up checkpoints, stretch ropes, and set up signs to restrict people from passing through. At the same time, urgently arrange human resources and equipment to repair damaged areas when the weather is favorable.
