Heavy rain in many places, rainfall over 500mm

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (October 12), most regions across the country will have rain, especially heavy to very heavy rain in the Central region.

Specifically, from this morning to tomorrow night (October 13), the weather in the area from Nghe An to Quang Nam will have moderate rain, heavy rain to very heavy rain. The total rainfall in Northern Nghe An is 70-150mm, some places over 250mm; from Southern Nghe An to Thua Thien Hue 200-400mm, some places over 500mm; Da Nang and Quang Nam 100-200mm, some places over 300mm.

Notably, from this afternoon to tomorrow, heavy rain will spread to the Northern Delta and Thanh Hoa, with rainfall ranging from 40-80mm, in some places over 120mm.

In addition, in the area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan; the Central Highlands and the South, there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, some places over 60mm (thunderstorms are concentrated in the afternoon and evening).

The meteorological agency warned that heavy rain in the area from Nghe An to Quang Nam is likely to continue .

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas and the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas.

Northwest

Cloudy, some rain, sunny in the afternoon. Light wind. Cold at night.

Lowest temperature: 20-23 degrees, in the Northwest region 17-20 degrees. Highest temperature: 26-29 degrees, in some places above 29 degrees.

Northeast

Cloudy, with rain in some places; in the plains from the afternoon there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms. Northeast wind level 2-3, coastal areas level 3-4. During thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees, mountainous areas 18-21 degrees, high mountainous areas have places below 16 degrees. Highest temperature: 26-29 degrees, some places above 29 degrees.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy with moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms. North to northwest winds at level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to produce tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 25-28 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, moderate rain, heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain and thunderstorms in the North; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the South, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening, locally heavy rain. Light wind. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature: 29-32 degrees, in the South some places above 32 degrees.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, locally heavy rain. Light wind. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 20-23 degrees, some places below 20 degrees. Highest temperature: 28-31 degrees.

Southern Vietnam

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees.

Hanoi

Cloudy, with occasional rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night. Northeast wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 23-25 degrees. Highest temperature: 27-29 degrees.
