The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue said that due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Saola), the southwest wind was strong, from September 1 to 4, the province experienced moderate to heavy rain, with the measured rainfall reaching 50 - 100 mm; some areas had heavy rain reaching over 200 mm.
Heavy rains caused floods and inundation in some low-lying areas in Lak and Krong Ana districts, killing one person and leaving one missing. Both residents of Dak Phoi commune (Lak district) were swept away by floodwaters while going into the forest to collect bamboo shoots.

Regarding housing: heavy rain caused landslides that damaged 1 house (Buon Triet commune, Lak district) and partially flooded 66 houses (5 houses in Krong Ana district; 61 houses in Lak district).
Regarding agricultural production: about 1,186.8 hectares of rice were flooded. Of which, 277 hectares were in Krong Ana district; 909.8 hectares were in Lak district; 5.6 hectares of aquaculture ponds were flooded.
Heavy rains have destroyed 170 meters of household fences and 15 meters of Ly Tu Trong Primary School fence (Quynh Tan 2 village, Buon Trap town).
Regarding the landslide situation on the Krong Ana river bank: Water overflowing the river bank has broken 3 sections of the river bank (in Buon Triet commune), with a total length of about 90 m, the risk of further river bank landslides is very high.
To proactively respond to common types of natural disasters, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the organization and implementation of natural disaster response plans in the area according to Plan No. 2485/PA-UBND, dated March 28, 2023; proactively prevent landslides, ensure the safety of people's lives and property before and during the flood season in Official Dispatch No. 6495/UBND-NNMT, dated August 1, 2023.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue has directed localities to seriously organize on-duty shifts; proactively prepare plans to ensure safety in natural disaster prevention and control according to the "4 on-site" motto, not to be passive in situations; regularly propagate and remind people to pay attention, ensure safety for people and property, if necessary, proactively evacuate people to safe places; mobilize people to urgently harvest flooded areas early with the motto "green house is better than old field".
The People's Committees of the districts have directed the standing agencies for natural disaster prevention to organize serious 24/7 duty.
Krong Ana district has directed the People's Committees at the commune and town levels to guide cooperatives and water use cooperative groups in the area to closely monitor the development of the flood situation, implement measures to prevent flooding in agricultural production areas, and mobilize people to harvest agricultural products in low-lying areas to minimize damage caused by flooding.
