The National Assembly has approved a GDP growth target of 6.5-6.7% for 2025, striving for 7-7.5%, which can be considered a challenge in the context of the domestic and world economies that are forecast to have many advantages but no less difficulties.

Kinh tế Việt Nam năm 2024: Liệu có 'hạ cánh mềm'?
Our country has an important premise, fueling aspirations, strengthening beliefs, creating new motivation and new spirit to firmly overcome all difficulties and challenges, take advantage of opportunities and advantages, and confidently enter 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh once emphasized the need to strive for GDP growth of about 8% in 2025 to create momentum, force, and spirit to implement the plan for 2026 and the entire 2021-2030 period.

If Vietnam's economy achieves this impressive growth rate - it can be considered a breakthrough in the context of the country's transformation into a new era, an era of national growth.

General Secretary To Lam pointed out that this is the era of development, the era of prosperity, the era of prosperity under the leadership and rule of the Communist Party, successfully building a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong country, democracy, equality, and civilization. The top priority in the new era is to successfully implement the strategic goals by 2030, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry and high average income; by 2045 it will become a developed socialist country with high income.

Our country will go through 2024 with more difficulties and challenges than predicted, especially the severe impact of the global economic recession, conflicts and wars, climate change and natural disasters. In a world picture in 2024 with the main colors of economic gloom, geopolitical conflicts... Vietnam continues to be considered a bright spot.

In fact, despite the adverse impact of many external factors and internal shortcomings and difficulties, Vietnam has clearly demonstrated its determination and spirit to enter the battle fiercely, strive to achieve many important and comprehensive achievements, continue to have outstanding marks; enhance the overall national strength and people's trust; consolidate and enhance the country's position and prestige in the international arena. That achievement is the continued concretization of Vietnam's development aspirations during the 13th National Congress term and for the entire journey ahead.

In 2025 and the following years, the world situation is forecast to change rapidly, creating many opportunities for economies, but also posing many new challenges. The historical mission continues to place heavy responsibilities on the shoulders of our Party and all sectors of the economy.

Before the end of 2024, many international organizations have updated and raised their forecasts for Vietnam's GDP growth in 2025, notably Standard Chartered forecasting 6.7%, ADB and UOB forecasting 6.6%; other organizations such as HSBC, VinaCapital, OECD, World Bank and the United Nations all forecasted growth of 6.5%.

There are many optimistic assessments about Vietnam's growth because new drivers for growth have gradually become clear, from good growth, abundant foreign investment capital, open export markets... and a strong presence in the international arena.

Our country has an important premise, fueling aspirations, strengthening beliefs, creating new motivation and new spirit to firmly overcome all difficulties and challenges, take advantage of opportunities and advantages, and confidently enter 2025.
