As expected, when strong winds begin to blow along the South Central coast, Mui Ne beach in Mui Ne ward, Lam Dong province, enters its most vibrant time of the year.

The blue sea, white sand, and golden sunshine are "awakened" by hundreds of colorful kites soaring in the sky, creating a distinctive and beautiful scene.

This is also a familiar signal that kitesurfing season has returned – the peak season that attracts a large number of international tourists to Mui Ne to conquer the waves.

The Ham Tien-Mui Ne coastline is always bustling from noon until late afternoon this season. On the long stretches of white sand, kite flyers prepare their kites, check their strings, and have quick exchanges with their coaches before heading out to sea.

When the wind fills the kite, the player glides swiftly across the water and soars above the waves, performing spectacular somersaults amidst the whistling wind and crashing waves. For many, the feeling of "flying" between the sky and the sea, mastering the wind and waves, is an unforgettable experience that not every place can offer.

According to experienced kitesurfers, the ideal wind speed for kitesurfing is around 40 km/h. This is also a "specialty" of Mui Ne during the months from mid-December of the previous year to the end of March or the beginning of April of the following year.

Strong, steady winds, moderately high waves, and a gently sloping beach with no dangerous rocks or coral reefs create exceptionally favorable natural conditions.

This is what has made Mui Ne a familiar destination for the community who love this thrilling water sport. Denis (a tourist from Russia) said that there is a fairly large team from Russia that comes here to play this sport. If I remember correctly, this is his sixth time returning to Mui Ne to try kitesurfing. The appeal of Mui Ne comes not only from its natural conditions but also from its large international kitesurfing community. Tourists from Russia, Germany, China, Canada, and more consider it their "winter home" to escape the cold and enjoy the warm sunshine. Many have chosen to return multiple times.

Mr. Dong Liang (a Canadian tourist) shared that when he first came to Mui Ne, he thought he would only stay for a month, but ended up staying for four months. And for the past few years, he has returned every year, dedicating a full four months to this area.

"In Canada, it's very cold and rainy at this time of year. Meanwhile, Mui Ne is bathed in warm sunshine, has beautiful beaches, and big waves. Everyone is having a great time. The coaches here are also very skilled," Mr. Dong Liang shared.

Not only is it attractive to kitesurfers, the lively atmosphere of kitesurfing season also contributes to enlivening the tourism landscape of Mui Ne. The presence of hundreds of kites soaring and brightly colored in the blue sky attracts tourists to visit, take photos, and enjoy the energetic seascape.

According to the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward, taking advantage of its unique features, the locality has been gradually building a distinctive beach resort tourism brand on the domestic and international tourism map, especially resort tourism combined with water sports; aiming to become the national center for water sports tourism.

Mui Ne is currently in its peak season for international winter tourists. From November 2025 onwards, the area has seen positive signs as the number of international visitors has increased and diversified. Visitors to Mui Ne mainly come from Russia, South Korea, China, Germany, the UK, and the US.
