Artists Tran Thanh Thuc, Bui Mai Hien, and Nguyen Thi Lan Huong will participate in the 10th exhibition "North, Central, and South Colors".
The group of female artists from three regions connected with each other since 2009, from the idea of artist Nguyen Thi Lan Huong who wanted to organize an art "game" for female artists across the country.
This group of female artists operates in an open model, always welcoming new artists who share the same passion for painting. Since the first exhibition in 2010 in Hanoi , the female artists have continuously organized exhibitions in all three regions, from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Gia Lai... But after 7 years, the group's 10th exhibition was held.
In this 10th exhibition “North, Central and South Colors”, the public will meet 10 female artists, including familiar faces who have appeared in previous events such as: Bui Mai Hien, Nguyen Thi Lan Huong, Tran Thanh Thuc, Tao Thu Huong (Hanoi); Ngo Dinh Bao Vi (Thua Thien - Hue); Ho Thi Xuan Thu (Gia Lai). The event also has artists participating for the first time such as: Trang Thanh Hien (Hanoi); Tran Thao Hien, Nguyen Ngoc Dan ( Ho Chi Minh City); Tran Thi Dao (Dak Lak). The female artists bring 50 new works, diverse in style and material, full of colors about life, about the thoughts and feelings of women who have experienced the role of mother and wife.
Every time he exhibits, artist Bui Mai Hien surprises the public with new discoveries in the world of colors. This time, artist Bui Mai Hien will appear with abstract, surreal paintings on acrylic material. Themes of nature such as mountains, forests, seas, clouds, sky, etc. are expressed through strange, limitless lines and colors, evoking many thoughts for viewers. "Fabric wizard" Tran Thanh Thuc continues to exploit the material of symbols of the capital such as: Turtle Tower, Hoan Kiem Lake, ancient houses, etc. but are shaped and layered near and far, filled with memories. Paintings by artist Nguyen Thi Lan Huong introduce the theme of lotus, with illusory, profound shapes. Artist Ho Thi Xuan Thu delves into the theme of the Central Highlands through lacquer works about small people before the vast, immense nature.
This is the first time that Associate Professor, Dr. Trang Thanh Hien has participated in the group exhibition “Colors of North, Central and South” although she has accompanied the group members in many events. The female artist brings paintings on traditional materials such as Do paper and Nho ink on the theme of Zen and Buddhism, born from her research on ancient fine arts and Buddhism over the years. Artist Ngo Dinh Bao Vi introduces new feminine creations using bamboo material. Artist Tran Thi Dao - who started out in the medical field but because of her passion, picked up a brush, brought unique silk paintings about women in the Central Highlands. Two faces from Ho Chi Minh City, artists Tran Thao Hien and Nguyen Ngoc Dan, contribute soft, feminine flower and still life paintings using oil paints...
The gathering “North, Central and South Colors” continues to demonstrate the enduring creativity of female artists and inspire “women” on their path to art. This meeting will also be an event for female artists from three regions to meet, share more about their profession and together continue their journey of passionate and dedicated creation.
