On the occasion of the new year 2025, musician Hoai An has just released the MV "Happy Spring" (poem: Lam Xuan Thi) bringing together 25 singers and 5 traditional musical instrument artists.

Specifically, the 25 singers are mostly young singers who have won awards at music competitions, vocal instructors or familiar faces on television.

5 traditional musical instrument artists include Meritorious Artist Dinh Linh, Hai Phuong, Anh Tan, Thu Thuy and artist Cao Ho Nga.

The MV was filmed at many famous locations in Ho Chi Minh City such as: Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Ben Thanh Market, Central Post Office , City Theater, Bach Dang Wharf, Independence Palace, Nha Rong Wharf, Ba Son Bridge, Mong Bridge, Lam Son Park, Turtle Lake...

The product is imbued with traditional music with the sounds of a variety of musical instruments such as the zither, the thirty-six-stringed zither, the flute, the moon lute...

Hoai An said he started using traditional music materials in 2000 and has especially prioritized this style since 2013. For a long time, he has cherished making a Tet music video with many traditional musical instruments.

The song "Chuc Xuan" also has a short violin verse by Hien Le - a student of musician Tran Tien. Because the MV is only 5 and a half minutes long, the traditional musical instruments only appear together, without having the "space" to emphasize each instrument.

Hoai An composed music from the poem of the same name by Lam Xuan Thi. The whole poem is the author's wish for the life around him such as: flowers, leaves, day and night, silhouettes...

The two lines: "Wishing you Phuc, wishing you An/ Life is like a smooth melody" are the author's feelings sent to the musician brothers Hoai An and Vo Hoai Phuc.

VietNamNet reporter raised the question: The song "Chuc Xuan" by musician Dinh Trung Chinh has been widely known to generations of Vietnamese audiences, performed by many famous singers. There is also a song "Chuc Xuan" by the late musician Lu Lien. The fact that the work has the same name may cause confusion, and may be affected by being released later.

In response to the question: "When receiving the poem "Happy Spring" , did Hoai An discuss or suggest changing the name with author Lam Xuan Thi?", he said he never looked up the duplicate title, especially when setting it to music because he wanted to keep the poem intact from title to content, without changing any word.

"The Vietnamese music treasure is so large that even professionals cannot know it all. I think duplicate song titles are normal. Nowadays, looking up information is very easy. Each song is identified by title, author... then singer, and recording," said Hoai An.

The musician added that there are currently songs with the same title as his compositions from 20 years ago. He finds it normal and believes that no one did it on purpose.
