Rookie group remakes Wren Evans' song and gets high praise from Toc Tien

(Dan Tri) - The performance "Used to be familiar" by three rookies Ta Hoang Long, Nguyen Huu Son and Nguyen Lam Anh attracted attention on social networks and received many compliments.

Episode 10 of Rookie of the Year - Survival Stage brings the 6th test with 3 parts: Dance, Vocal and Performance.

In particular, the Vocal competition attracted special attention when the three rookies Hoang Long, Huu Son and Lam Anh performed the song " Once Familiar" (Wren Evans), impressing with their soulful voices and confident demeanor.

Coach Park Sumin highly appreciated the performance: "You guys did very well. Hoang Long was initially unstable during practice, but today his expression matched the song. As for Huu Son, I've only just met him, but I'm impressed with his beautiful voice and the way he maintains his central position."

Training and Development Director Huyk Shin, who is famous for being picky, also gave a rare compliment: "Hoang Long sings very accurately, I didn't expect you to be able to handle such high notes. You have the potential to become a main vocalist. As for Huu Son, today you performed like a professional artist almost perfectly."

Toc Tien expressed her hope: "I hope that when this performance airs, the audience will have a different view of the main vocalists of All-round Rookie . Through this performance, you guys prove that you not only know how to dance and perform, but also sing very well and with great emotion."

Immediately after airing, the performance quickly created a strong effect on social networks thanks to the uniformity of the rookies' voices, stage skills and modern musical colors.

Previously, at the 5th audition, fans were in an uproar over the producer's bold decision to let the rookies perform in groups on an outdoor stage, on a large scale like professional bands, and had to sing 100% live, without overdubbing or backtrack support.

Explaining this, the show's organizers said: "We want to put the pressure of performing on a big stage early so that the contestants can practice their stage mastery skills, overcome and control their own fears. This is the premise for the bigger stages later on that you will have to master when you become an idol working in a music group."

The producers believe that the harshness of the training model and the strictness of the standards mean that the expectations for the next generation of young artists in Vietnamese music are greater.
