On the morning of August 7, the Ministry of Public Security held a press conference to provide information on activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection.
Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security chaired the press conference; Major General Nguyen Quoc Toan, Chief of Office, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Security, chaired the press conference.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To stated: Implementing Decision No. 280/QD-TTg dated April 4, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Project on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the Public Security of units and localities to actively implement in accordance with the set programs and plans.
Up to now, the units have organized 44 commemorative activities; ensuring effectiveness, focus, key points, depth and profound political significance; recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches and people.
Highlights include a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" statue at the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site; 2 music Gala programs "Glory of the People's Public Security of Vietnam" attracting more than 600,000 participants; organizing the 2025 ASEAN Open Police Football Tournament in Vietnam...
From now until August 19, there will be a peak of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection with nearly 40 events of great political significance to the Public Security sector.
Regarding the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Day and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, Major General Nguyen Cong Bay, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work, said that from now until August 19, there will be more than 20 key activities, including: World Police Music Festival in Vietnam in 2025, Trumpet Concert at Hoan Kiem Theater and performances around the lake - an international-scale program, close to the people, truly serving the people, taking place in the walking street space of Hoan Kiem Lake from August 8-10, with the participation of 6 countries and 8 delegations.
During the 4 days from August 16-19, also at Hoan Kiem Lake, the program "Peaceful Festival" will take place, including cultural, sports, experiential activities, exhibitions about the elite, modernity, maturity and growth of the Police force, combined with street music so that people can participate in performances with the artists of the force...
A special highlight is the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Public Security and the 20th Anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection, taking place at 9:00 a.m. on August 17 at the National Convention Center.
Major General Nguyen Cong Bay said that the Department of Political Work has coordinated with the staff units of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security. The most important issue is activities that exude the spirit of being close to the people, close to the people, for the people, and propaganda to bring the people closer to the Public Security, so that the people can stand together and fight side by side with the Public Security.
