Vietnam women's volleyball team wins opening match of stage 2 of SEA V.League 2025

VHO - Despite not using their strongest force, the Vietnamese girls still won 3-0 against the Philippine women's team in the opening match of the second leg of the Southeast Asian Women's Volleyball Tournament - SEA V.League 2025, taking place tonight, August 8, at Ninh Binh Province Stadium.

In the first round in Thailand, the Philippine girls caused many difficulties for the Vietnamese women's team when they won only 1 set (lost 1-3).

But in this rematch, the Vietnamese women's team did not let their opponent do the same.

In set 1, despite not fielding their best players from the start, the Vietnamese women's team still played exceptionally well and won 25-14.

The second set saw a commendable effort from the Philippine women's team.

The home team started better, leading by 3 points (9-6) at one point, but then let the Philippines lead by 4 points (18-14).

However, after the coaching staff made adjustments with the participation of opposite setter Bich Tuyen and setter Lam Oanh, the Vietnamese women's team scored consecutive points to equalize before winning dramatically 30-28.

In the third set, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet created opportunities for many players to play but the team still won 25-22.

Beating the Philippines 3-0 (25-14, 30-28, 25-22), the Vietnamese women's team had a good start in the second round, and together with Thailand, the team that beat Indonesia 3-0, shared the top two positions after the first round.

At 4:00 p.m. tomorrow, August 9, the Vietnamese women's team will play the second match against Indonesia.
