As a central activity within the series of events organized by Hanoi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the plaque unveiling ceremony and exhibition are scheduled to take place on the morning of August 18 at the historical site located at 48 Hang Ngang Street, Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi.
The event was chaired by the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and directly organized by the Department of Culture and Sports .
The exhibition's content is elaborately and scientifically designed with 3 main themes: The house at 48 Hang Ngang and the family of the patriotic nationalist capitalist Trinh Van Bo - Hoang Thi Minh Ho; Historical context and the birth of the Declaration of Independence; Historical significance of the Declaration of Independence and the journey to protect national independence.
In particular, the exhibition features the application of modern technologies such as 3D light projection and visual simulations to enhance the visitor experience while protecting original artifacts – in line with the requirements of digital transformation and the current trend of innovating methods for introducing and educating about heritage…

The house at 48 Hang Ngang Street, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Trinh Van Bo, is located in the heart of the Old Quarter, the bustling commercial center of old Hanoi, now part of Hoan Kiem Ward, Hanoi. The house has two entrances: 48 Hang Ngang Street and 35 Hang Can Street.
Due to its advantageous location and its status as a revolutionary base from the pre-insurrection period, this house was chosen by the Central Committee of the Party as the residence and workplace of President Ho Chi Minh during his early days after returning to Hanoi from the Viet Bac resistance zone in August 1945.
President Ho Chi Minh worked here from August 25th to early September 1945. Here, he and the Standing Committee of the Central Party Committee decided on many important policies regarding domestic and foreign affairs in the new situation; on the structure and composition of the new government; and on the organization of Independence Day celebrations...
In a room on the second floor of this house, President Ho Chi Minh wrote the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. House 48 Hang Ngang Street was recognized as a Cultural Historical Relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) according to Decision No. 54VH/QD dated April 29, 1979.
The house at 48 Hang Ngang Street is not only a special historical monument, but also a sacred symbol of patriotism and national pride.
