In this ranking, the Vietnamese women's team was awarded an additional 2.09 points thanks to 3 wins in the 2026 Asian Qualifiers (which is also the preliminary round of the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup), including a 7-0 victory over Maldives, 6-0 over UAE and 4-0 over Guam.
Following the Vietnamese women's team in Southeast Asia is the Philippines, ranked 39th in the world , up 2 places compared to the most recent rankings. Meanwhile, Thailand unexpectedly dropped 7 places to 53rd.
On the continental level, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team ranked 6th in Asia, after the Japanese women's team (8th in the world), the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (10th), Australia (15th), China (16th) and South Korea (21st).
In the world's top group, Spain overtook the United States to retain the No. 1 spot. They were followed by Sweden, who climbed three places in the rankings with four wins at the UEFA European Women's Championship Switzerland 2025. England also climbed one place to fourth, while Germany dropped to fifth.
Maintaining the ranking reflects the stable performance of the Vietnamese women's team in recent times. This is also an important mental boost to help the team aim for the championship at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship, currently taking place in Hai Phong and Phu Tho. The next ranking will be announced by FIFA on December 11, 2025.
