In order to preserve and promote the values of traditional products in the area, boost production development, and increase income for rural communities, Gia Vien district has implemented many comprehensive solutions to promote, advise, and guide businesses in developing OCOP products.
In 2023 alone, the district reviewed, evaluated, classified, and recognized an additional 16 products. These include: Cuong Cuc sausages, Cuong Cuc mushroom paste (Me town); Doan Thoa dried lotus seeds, Doan Thoa dried lotus seeds (Gia Tran commune); Ong Kim glutinous rice wine; Ong Kim glutinous rice wine (Gia Sinh commune); Diem Giang rice crackers (Gia Thang commune); Gia Vuong conical hats (Gia Vuong commune); Duc Tinh carp fish paste, Duc Tinh grass carp fish paste (Gia Minh commune); Ba Tu traditional shrimp paste (Gia Trung commune); Son Lam embroidery and lace product set (scarf, bag) (Gia Lap commune); Tue Hue longan flower honey (Me town); Ba Non custard apple (Gia Hoa commune); Dai Huu straw-grilled fish (Gia Phuong commune); Van Long black carp (Gia Van commune).
Thus far, the district has 26 OCOP products with 3 to 4 stars. The locality is focusing on promoting trade, supporting businesses, cooperatives, and households to participate in fairs and exhibitions to have the opportunity to promote their products; learn, exchange experiences in production and business. To date, the district's OCOP products have been introduced in many provinces and cities nationwide and directly serve the development of local tourism .
