Ho Chi Minh City, a 10th grade male student at Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School had to be hospitalized after being beaten by a friend and forced to crawl between the legs of 6 other students.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Phuong, Principal of Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School, District 11, said on the morning of May 15 that a 10th grade male student of the school suffered a fractured frontal bone after being beaten by a classmate. The incident happened after school hours, on the afternoon of May 5, in an area near the school.
According to the report of the beaten male student, he was threatened by a group of friends and approached to take him to the Phu Tho Stadium area, District 11. There, the group of friends drew a circle and asked him not to run away, then repeatedly hit him in the head and chest. When the male student begged for mercy, a member of the group asked him to crawl through the crotch of all the male students present there.
When hospitalized for treatment, the male student was diagnosed with a fractured frontal bone, many bruises, and two black eyes.
Mr. Phuong said that after investigation, the cause of the fight stemmed from a love conflict. The male student who beat his friend thought that the other girl was teasing his girlfriend, so he warned her and retaliated.
Nam Ky Khoi Nghia High School is working with the ward police to clarify the incident. After the results are available, the school will take disciplinary action against the students involved.
The student who was beaten had to miss a few days of school for treatment and was unable to take the final exam for the second semester. The school will give him a make-up exam later. All the students involved have returned to school as usual.
Since the beginning of the school year, student fights have occurred continuously in many localities such as Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Vinh Long, Quang Tri... A few days ago, an 11th grade male student in Nam Dinh died after fighting with a friend.
The Ministry of Education and Training estimates that nearly 7,100 students will be involved in school violence in 2022. According to the Ministry's regulations, disciplinary action for students who violate the law currently includes three forms: warning, reprimand, and temporary suspension from school.
