Improving the quality of healthcare for the people.

The Nam Trach Commune Health Station was established by merging three health stations: Viet Trung Farm, Nhan Trach, and Ly Nam. After its establishment, the station has 35 staff members, operating at one main office and three branch health stations. To ensure uninterrupted primary healthcare services for the people, the station's staff, with a proactive and flexible approach, quickly adapted to the new model.

Guided by the principle of "being close to the people and serving the people," and aiming to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, the Nam Trach Commune Health Station has established working regulations, assigning specific tasks to each position, department, and station location for implementation. The station promptly handles first aid and emergency care for accidents and injuries, and quickly refers cases beyond its expertise to higher-level facilities.

The health station has done a good job in providing health insurance-covered medical examinations and outpatient treatment for people with non-communicable diseases. In the first quarter of 2026, the station received 3,936 patient visits, including 1,542 health insurance-covered visits and a total of 2,394 preventive visits.

Ms. Ngo Thi Huong, from Chien Thang residential area, Nam Trach commune, shared: “I suffer from vestibular disorders, so I frequently have to go to the commune's health station for examination and treatment. My grandchildren also trust and fully participate in the vaccination programs here. During the examination and treatment process, the doctors and nurses at the station are very enthusiastic and attentive. Being able to get medical care close to home and having it covered by insurance makes me very satisfied.”

Over the past period, the station has proactively developed plans to effectively implement measures to prevent and control infectious diseases; coordinated with preschools in the commune to spray disinfectant chemicals, inspect and monitor environmental hygiene, and track and monitor potential outbreaks in schools to promptly control, isolate, and manage them according to regulations. The station has also regularly monitored diseases such as dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, and chickenpox.

National health programs are implemented with the aim of providing primary healthcare, preventing, controlling, and managing public health issues. Regular vaccinations are organized for children and pregnant women; strict adherence to age-specific vaccination schedules and procedures ensures safety and effectiveness in disease prevention. The health station has collaborated with the commune's broadcasting station to strengthen the dissemination of knowledge and legal regulations on food safety, guidance on preventing food poisoning for the local population, and communication on population issues…

According to Dr. Le Trong Tuan, Director of the Nam Trach Commune Health Station, after the merger, the station has initially streamlined its organizational structure according to the new management model. Medical examination and treatment activities are maintained stably, management and personnel arrangements are clearly defined and focused on specialized positions to better serve the people and ensure that the station's operations are not interrupted.

However, the health station is still facing several difficulties that directly affect the quality of service. Some legal procedures are still incomplete, impacting some of the station's operations. Infrastructure, medical equipment, and personnel are not yet synchronized, thus limiting the implementation of professional tasks. The supply of medicines covered by health insurance is running out, but there are currently no guidelines on how to tender for medicines for health stations. In addition, the station currently cannot perform ultrasound and electrocardiogram techniques and does not have doctors trained in these specialties; postgraduate medical training also faces many difficulties…

To improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people, the Nam Trach Commune Health Station will continue to closely follow the leadership, direction, and guidance of higher authorities to effectively implement tasks; strengthen disease prevention and control to promptly detect and handle outbreaks, preventing them from spreading in the area. The station will also improve the spirit and attitude of serving patients, focusing on innovating service styles and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; and propose that the Department of Health organize training to improve the professional skills of doctors and medical staff at the grassroots level…
