The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced new measures to improve the quality of operations at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, aiming to promote the tourism industry.
According to Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to coordinate with units at the airport to improve service quality for passengers, including expanding operating hours and optimizing immigration procedures.
Improving services at Tan Son Nhat airport
Innovative solutions such as priority lanes and priority services, along with the implementation of new technology, will help reduce waiting times, especially for business class passengers and international investors.
The Southern Airports Authority and the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Public Security will work together to focus on improving operational efficiency at check-in counters, as well as streamlining and baggage handling to reduce waiting times.
The Department of Transport will continue to closely coordinate with relevant agencies and units to study comprehensive and scientific traffic organization and connection plans at Tan Son Nhat airport area, including when terminal T3 is put into operation.
At the same time, there will be increased use of advanced technological solutions such as automatic control gates and non-stop automatic toll collection to increase efficiency in coordinating the operations of private and public transport at the airport area.
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism was assigned to advise the Chairman of the City People's Committee in establishing an interdisciplinary working group to implement measures and solutions to improve the service quality and image of Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The Department of Tourism will also be the main coordinating agency for information related to business class delegations and foreign investor delegations, to ensure a professional and friendly reception environment at Tan Son Nhat airport.
