Currently, mangoes and other fruits exported from Vietnam to markets around the world tend to increase. In fact, in the first two months of 2023, mango exports reached 34.7 million USD, an increase of 16.7% over the same period in 2022. Since then, businesses have paid more attention to improving quality and value to penetrate demanding markets with high added value.

However, to enhance the value and sustainable development of the mango industry, Deputy Director of the Department of Crop Production Le Thanh Tung said: Provinces need to review, plan concentrated production, and form production links along the chain. There are policies to attract businesses to invest in linking production, preliminary processing, processing and exporting mangoes and mango products, and at the same time form mango production linkage organizations.

At the same time, promote certified production, production that meets food safety standards, issue growing area codes, continue to spread mango production seasons and support mango industry development policies on digital transformation.

However, currently, the support from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is needed to find solutions to expand the consumption market and negotiate to expand the official export market. For the domestic market, localities need to build brands, at the same time build mango product brands, associated with geographical indications and promote trade promotion.
