Improve management efficiency, ensure food safety and quality

The Department of Industry and Trade has just issued Official Dispatch No. 281/SCT-QLCN directing units to implement Directive No. 12/CT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on strengthening food safety management in food production and trading in accordance with the 2-level local government model.

Accordingly, the Market Management Department presides over and coordinates with relevant agencies to step up inspections and strictly handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, and violations of food safety regulations. The authorities organize peak inspections, maintain regular inspections, focusing on large-scale consumption items with high risk of counterfeiting such as vegetable oil and powdered milk. At the same time, strengthen control of food business activities on digital platforms; require platforms to support traceability.

In particular, Market Management Team No. 1 has controlled key items; propagated and mobilized more than 200 people to sign a commitment not to trade in fake or poor quality goods, contributing to raising business awareness and protecting public health.
