Upgrading Thu Khoa Huan Street

The Provincial People's Council has passed a Resolution approving the investment plan for the project to upgrade Thu Khoa Huan road, the section from Ton Duc Thang road to Ke bridge, Phan Thiet city.

Thu Khoa Huan Street is one of the "backbone" roads in Phan Thiet city. Before Hung Vuong Street was built, Thu Khoa Huan Street played a crucial role in transporting tourists from the city center to the Mui Ne tourist area. It connects to many other roads such as Ton Duc Thang, Le Hong Phong, and Le Duan… Therefore, the traffic density on this road is very high, leading to faster deterioration compared to other roads. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, whose house is on Thu Khoa Huan Street, shared: "I feel disheartened seeing tourists walking on this road every day, but the sidewalks are damaged in many places. Many tourists who visited Phan Thiet before were impressed by the beautiful purple blossoms of the crape myrtle trees along Thu Khoa Huan Street, so when they return, they really enjoy walking and sightseeing on this road. Therefore, I hope the road will be repaired and upgraded soon to further beautify this tourist city…"

Mr. Do Minh Tri, Director of the Phan Thiet City Investment and Construction Project Management Board, stated: The Provincial People's Council has passed a Resolution approving the investment plan to upgrade Thu Khoa Huan road, from Ton Duc Thang road to Ke Bridge. The project will complete the infrastructure along the entire Thu Khoa Huan road to meet the transportation needs of the people, connect the center of Phan Thiet city with the Mui Ne National Tourist Area, and contribute to improving the urban landscape and environment of Phan Thiet city.

The project has a total length of approximately 2,200 m, starting at the intersection with Ton Duc Thang Street and ending at Ke Bridge. The road width is 12 m, with sidewalks of 4 m on each side, and a roadbed width of 20 m. The road surface and sidewalks will undergo localized repairs and be paved with asphalt concrete on both sides. Sidewalks will be tiled, with granite curbs, and a plan will be in place to underground the 22kV medium-voltage power lines in the future. Auxiliary items will include the investment in rainwater and domestic wastewater drainage systems, undergrounding of low-voltage electricity and telecommunications systems, the addition of new fire hydrants, landscaping, street lighting, and other supporting items. The total investment for the project is approximately VND 97.2 billion, funded by the provincial budget within the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025 and carried over to the period 2026-2030.
