Elevating Nghi Son beach tourism

Tourists come to Hai Hoa beach resort during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

“Waking up” before the new tourist season, right from the beginning of the year, Nghi Son town authorities have proactively deployed many important tasks to prepare for the peak season of beach tourism. Currently, Nghi Son town has 127 tourist accommodation establishments, including 1 hotel built to 4-star standards, 6 3-star hotels, 30 1-2 star hotels and 90 motels and homestays. Service points, accommodation establishments and coastal restaurants are actively being renovated, upgrading facilities, ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety, food hygiene and improving service quality. Ms. Le Thi Van Anh, owner of Anh Khanh Minh Homestay (Hai Hoa ward), shared: “We have reviewed and completed all room categories, added human resources, trained communication and service skills to be ready to welcome tourists in a thoughtful and friendly manner”.

In particular, the opening ceremony of the tourist season on April 24, the art program with the theme "Nghi Son - the pearl sea of aspiration to reach far" left a strong impression on the hearts of the people and tourists, at the same time sending out the message: Sea tourism will be the new growth pillar of the locality with the target of 1.5 million visitors, total tourism revenue reaching 3,000 billion VND or more. With many sea tourism investment projects that have been and are being implemented in Hai Ninh, Hai An, Tan Dan, Hai Linh, Ninh Hai wards... will gradually create a coastal tourism complex, a great driving force to promote the town's tourism industry to develop rapidly, synchronously and modernly in the future.

Not only sunshine and sand, the highlight of Nghi Son sea tourism development plan is the orientation to build diverse products with cultural - ecological depth. The town has re-planned the tourism space along the sea - relic - community axis, in which Hai Hoa is the center for developing high-class resort services; Hai Thuong, Bai Dong develop experiential tourism, camping; Me island, Hon Me aim for discovery tourism, diving; Hai Thanh fishing village, Nghi Son develop homestay model, cultural tourism - traditional craft. Major projects are also actively calling for investment and infrastructure renovation to connect to the overall tourism product chain, such as: Tan Dan, Hai Linh, Ninh Hai, Hai Ninh, Binh Minh sea eco-tourism area; Hao Hao lake eco-tourism area - Am Cac pagoda; Hoang Quoc Cong Dao Duy Tu temple; Quang Trung - Lach Bang relic cluster; Bien Son scenic relic complex; Truong Lam cave complex... to create a marine tourism space associated with local cultural and historical values.

On March 25, 2025, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province recognized the Hai Hoa coastal tourist area, Hai Hoa ward, creating a new turning point in the development of local tourism. Hai Hoa beach is located in a prime location near National Highway 1A, about 15km from the center of Nghi Son Economic Zone. This place is blessed by nature with a peaceful and poetic space with a long, gently sloping beach, fine white sand, and gentle waves. From here, visitors can easily travel to many attractions in Nghi Son town such as visiting Me island; Dong beach; Bien Son scenic spot; Dao Duy Tu temple, going up the mountain to explore Truong Lam cave, Am Cac ancient pagoda, or visiting the famous Do Xuyen - Ba Lang fish sauce village in Thanh land. With beautiful natural scenery, convenient traffic system, restaurant and hotel services at Hai Hoa coastal tourist area have initially met the long-term vacation needs of visitors.

According to Decision No. 153/QD-TTg dated February 27, 2023 of the Prime Minister on the planning of Thanh Hoa province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045, regarding sea tourism, focusing on development in coastal localities, focusing on Sam Son coastal tourism urban area, Hai Tien tourist area (Hoang Hoa), coastal tourist area of Quang Xuong district and Nghi Son town; developing tourism products to explore the sea and islands in Hon Ne and Hon Me areas (Nghi Son)... After many years of being considered a "blurred spot" on the tourism map of Thanh land, Nghi Son is gradually establishing a new role, becoming a coastal tourism area rich in identity, modern and profound on the tourism map of the Central region.
