Promoting cultural values among the current workforce is an urgent requirement, aiming to cultivate a highly skilled, resilient, ethical, and healthy workforce.
Creating a cultured lifestyle for workers.
With the rapid development of industrial zones, Dong Nai attracts an increasingly large and diverse workforce in terms of skill levels, backgrounds, and living environments. This poses a challenge in building a cultural life, especially since a segment of workers still face difficulties in living conditions and lack healthy cultural and recreational spaces. Furthermore, the impact of the digital environment also significantly affects the awareness, behavior, and lifestyles of workers.
Faced with this situation, trade unions and the business community have proactively implemented solutions to improve the cultural and spiritual lives of workers. Activities such as building cultural institutions, organizing sports events, art performances, skills clubs, libraries, and community spaces are increasingly being organized regularly, creating beneficial playgrounds that help workers interact, learn, and develop comprehensively.
Promoting cultural values among the workforce in the new era is not only an immediate task but also a long-term strategy, contributing to the creation of a high-quality workforce that meets the requirements of national development in the era of integration and digital transformation.
Vice President of the City Labor Union, BUI THI BICH THUY
According to Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Vice President of the City's Labor Union Federation: Integrating the building of worker culture with the dissemination of laws, professional ethics education , and labor discipline awareness by the Labor Union organization is yielding positive results. Many models are also linked to legal education, life skills, labor discipline awareness, and social responsibility. Numerous businesses have developed codes of conduct and corporate culture linked to social responsibility, thereby creating a professional, respectful, and sharing work environment.
Mr. Le Mong Hoang, Chairman of the Trade Union of Freewell Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Phu Ward), said: "In order to build a cultural life for workers, the company, in coordination with the Trade Union, promotes labor and production emulation movements and improves skills; at the same time, it organizes many practical cultural, artistic, and sports activities. This not only creates a positive working environment and fosters employee cohesion but also contributes to cultivating discipline, industrial work ethics, and a healthy lifestyle among the workforce."
Notably, in recent years, the application of digital technology in the development of worker culture has opened up many new avenues, suitable for the current context of digital transformation. Online platforms and social networks are effectively utilized to transmit positive information, spread good values, and strengthen connections within the worker community. Through this, workers have the opportunity to access knowledge quickly and conveniently, contributing to raising awareness, skills, and gradually forming a civilized and modern lifestyle.
Building a healthy work environment
In reality, many businesses in Dong Nai have proactively built a modern working environment linked to the development of corporate culture. Training programs in digital skills, soft skills, occupational safety awareness, and behavioral culture are regularly implemented. Many companies also utilize internal social networks to connect workers, spread positive information, and build a united and responsible worker community.
Simultaneously, trade unions are also innovating their methods of operation, applying technology in activities aimed at caring for the spiritual well-being of workers. From organizing online competitions and experience-sharing forums to providing legal knowledge through digital platforms, all contribute to enriching the cultural life and raising awareness among workers.
Despite achieving many positive results, the process of improving worker culture during the digital transformation period still faces numerous challenges. A segment of the workforce lacks technological skills and is easily influenced by harmful and toxic information online. Working and living conditions in some industrial zones are inadequate and do not meet the increasingly high cultural needs of workers. A portion of workers face pressure from work, income, and housing, leading to limited opportunities to participate in cultural and spiritual activities.
According to Mr. Le Mong Hoang, Chairman of the Trade Union of Freewell Vietnam Co., Ltd., the digitalization process has profoundly impacted the working environment of workers. From smart, automated production lines to online management platforms, all require workers to constantly learn and adapt. In this context, worker culture is not limited to industrial work habits and discipline but also extends to learning, improving skills, and developing the ability to behave appropriately in a modern work environment.
To ensure the sustainable promotion of cultural values among workers, the collaboration of multiple parties is needed, including the State, businesses, and trade unions. More importantly, each worker needs to proactively raise awareness, actively participate in cultural activities, hone their skills, and build a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle. When culture becomes the foundation and driving force, the workforce will not only excel professionally but also contribute to building a progressive and civilized society.
