From the potential convergence…

After the merger, Gia Lai province has many rare conditions, including fertile basalt land for coffee, pepper, rubber, etc. to develop, and access to the advantages of the marine economy . Processing industry, especially agricultural and forestry processing, is identified as one of the pillars of growth in the future of the province.

Abundant raw material sources have attracted many processing projects to come into operation, helping to increase the value of agricultural products, limit raw exports, create jobs and increase income. In addition, many new projects are being implemented, expanding capacity and diversifying export products, forming a closed agricultural value chain.

Mr. Luu Vinh Quang - Deputy Director of Tam Ba Production and Service Company Limited (Dien Hong Ward) said: With 200 hectares of coffee completing international Organic certification, the Company is implementing a 700 billion VND instant coffee factory project.

With a closed value chain model from orchards to final products, Tam Ba is aiming for many export markets around the world. The company also continues to add drying technology to make dried durian products. From here, it will open a sustainable direction, bringing great value to the province's key agricultural product chains.

Gia Lai has a rapidly developing cross-border logistics and e-commerce network, along with 2 economic zones, 24 industrial parks (9,450 hectares) and 99 industrial clusters (5,400 hectares), which are the premise for investors to implement large-scale projects, linking production-processing-consumption, and expanding domestic and foreign markets.

Of which, Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (14,308 hectares) is a coastal industrial-service center, while Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone (41,515 hectares) is an international trade gateway.

Chu Se Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. is speeding up the completion of the infrastructure of the South Pleiku Industrial Park to attract secondary investors. General Director Le Trung Kien shared: With its strategic location, favorable conditions for trade, land and raw material sources, we expect the industrial park to attract large investors in the fields of agro-forestry processing, biological production, food processing and consumer industry.

Not only processing industry, Gia Lai also has outstanding advantages in renewable energy such as wind power, solar power, hydropower, biomass power... The whole province currently has 87 power plants with a capacity of more than 4,372 MW.

According to the adjusted Power Plan VIII, the total renewable energy capacity in Gia Lai can reach more than 9,600 MW, creating a foundation for the province to become a clean and sustainable energy center of the region.

…to the expectation of a breakthrough

According to Dr. Tran Du Lich - Member of the National Monetary Policy Advisory Council, Gia Lai province has many advantages to make a breakthrough. With an area of 21,576 km², diverse terrain from basalt plateau, plains to 134 km of coastline, the province is both a gateway to the sea and a connection to the East-West corridor through Le Thanh International Border Gate.

Along with that is the infrastructure system of seaports, airports, industrial parks of over 30,000 hectares and many industrial clusters that are gradually being completed. "The diversity of terrain and climate will create conditions for the province to form "agricultural-industrial bases" and develop renewable energy" - Dr. Tran Du Lich commented.

Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Duong Minh Duc acknowledged that the biggest challenge for Gia Lai province is to reorganize production and allocate resources harmoniously between two regions with uneven development conditions.

In the upcoming key orientation and solutions, the province focuses on completing the planning for industrial and commercial development in the direction of reasonable functional zoning.

The West of the province will be a strategic raw material area, a center for developing deep processing industry, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy and ecological industry.

The East of the province strongly develops high-tech industries, electronics, semiconductors, shipbuilding, logistics and free trade zones, connecting seaport infrastructure, airports, railway stations and logistics centers.

In addition, reorganize industrial zones and clusters according to specialized industries and connect value chains. Build strategic industrial-logistics corridors and strengthen regional connectivity between the Central Highlands and the Central Coast.

“Determining the development of green, circular industries and the application of digital transformation as a long-term strategic direction, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade will step up support for enterprises to innovate technology, improve production standards and management in an environmentally friendly direction, associated with the construction of ecological industrial parks and clusters, especially key industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and processing industry.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed the integration of the Industry and Trade sector planning into the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, helping to clearly position development pillars and selectively attract investment," Mr. Duc emphasized.
