According to Director of Thuy Lam Agricultural Cooperative Nguyen Thi Cuc, Thuy Lam has fertile land, suitable for growing crops, especially rice, including the famous yellow sticky rice variety. Currently, 100% of the cultivated area (more than 570 hectares) of the crop is planted with yellow sticky rice by Thuy Lam farmers.

After harvesting, the glutinous rice is dried and the husks are removed to produce round, plump, unbroken, and lightly fragrant rice grains. When cooked as sticky rice, the rice grains are clear, dry, soft but not crushed, and have a rich aroma; banh chung is made from delicious golden sticky rice that can be stored for a long time without becoming hard. Thuy Lam golden sticky rice is packaged in beautiful packaging with labels to trace its origin. Not only achieving high yields, Thuy Lam golden sticky rice also has outstanding quality. Thanks to its good quality and unique flavor, in 2013, the yellow sticky rice product of Thuy Lam commune was granted a collective trademark by the Department of Intellectual Property ( Ministry of Science and Technology ), helping to increase the value of rice grains in the market. In 2019, the yellow sticky rice of Thuy Lam Agricultural Cooperative was granted a 3-star OCOP product certificate (One Commune One Product Program) by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Director of Thuy Lam Agricultural Cooperative Nguyen Thi Cuc said that thanks to SRI farming, rice productivity is much higher than traditional farming, with a yield of about 1.8 quintals/sao and the current selling price is 35,000 VND/kg. Golden sticky rice growers always have an income 2-3 times higher than growing other sticky rice varieties and 4 times higher than growing ordinary rice. In particular, when classified as a 3-star OCOP product, product consumption is also more favorable than before.

Currently, the Cooperative is changing its designs and packaging to attract consumers. The Cooperative is also opening distribution channels to supermarkets, shopping malls, large hotels... to introduce to domestic and foreign tourists delicious dishes made from Thuy Lam golden sticky rice.
