The psoriasis clinic is one of the new features of Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital. Equipped with modern medical equipment, the hospital meets most of the needs for treating specialized diseases. The unit has deployed new technical services such as treating melasma, dilated blood vessels, hemangioma with ND YAG Laser technology, IPL; treating bad scars, skin examination, skin care, acne treatment; skin rejuvenation with LED lights; biochemical and immunological tests... to serve the diagnosis of specialized diseases.

Established on the basis of upgrading the Dermatology Center according to Decision 252 dated February 18, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital has 5 departments, 38 employees, 50 beds. As the highest level of leprosy and dermatology examination and treatment in the province, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital is under the Department of Health, under the professional and technical direction of the Central Dermatology Hospital and Quy Hoa Central Leprosy - Dermatology Hospital. The hospital has the function of performing the fields of disease prevention, medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation for leprosy patients, skin diseases and sexually transmitted infections in the province; is a specialized dermatology training facility for lower levels; directs the lower levels; conducts scientific research, deploys the application of science, technology and modern techniques to protect and care for people's health.
Last year, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital performed more than 40,500 dermatological examinations and treatments, reaching 135% of the plan, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2023; admitted 1,248 inpatients, somewhat limiting the number of patients who had to be transferred to other hospitals.
After its establishment, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital has performed well in dermatological examination and treatment, achieving and exceeding most of the targets assigned by the Department of Health. Regarding the implementation of the Leprosy Prevention Program in the province, 9/9 districts, towns and cities maintained the criteria for leprosy elimination (disease prevalence rate, detection rate, disability care rate, etc.). In 2024, more than 100,000 people were screened for new leprosy through the general health system. Leprosy prevention communication activities were well implemented; 141 disabled leprosy patients in the community were cared for; program monitoring sessions were conducted periodically.
Notably, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital has increased the implementation of specialized procedures, performing 4,140 procedures of all kinds, an increase of 39% compared to 2023. The unit is interested in training, in 2024, one doctor completed and one doctor is studying the Dermatology I specialty class; implementing two topics: Evaluation of the results of small blood vessels in the facial skin using long-pulse 1,064nm ND YAG Laser in 2024-2025, Survey of people's satisfaction with public health services at Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital in 2024.
In 2025, Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital aims to continue improving the quality of examination and treatment of specialized diseases; effectively using and managing medical equipment, ensuring essential medicines; training and improving medical ethics, implementing good behavior and communication of officials in state agencies, applying IT, digital transformation towards patient satisfaction. The unit maintains and improves quality to meet 4 standards for eliminating leprosy at district and provincial levels.
To achieve the set goals, the hospital consolidates and completes its organizational structure to ensure the operation of departments and offices; conducts training and fostering to improve professional qualifications, improve the quality of examination and treatment of specialized diseases. In addition, the unit enhances the role and responsibility of hospital councils; effectively manages and uses medical equipment under the Phu Yen Dermatology Hospital Upgrade Project to serve medical examination and treatment.
