According to preliminary calculations by Reuters news agency (UK), in January 2025, Russian gas exports via the TurkStream pipeline to Europe reached a record high of more than 50 million cubic meters per day.

Meanwhile, the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators (ENTSOG) said that in January 2025, the volume of Russian gas to Europe via TurkStream was 1.56 billion cubic meters.
Last month, Moscow increased gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream pipeline to a record high since the pipeline was launched in 2020, TASS news agency reported.
TurkStream is now the only pipeline carrying Russian gas to Europe after a five-year transit agreement between Moscow and Kiev was not renewed when it expired on January 1.
The pipeline has a capacity of 31.5 billion cubic meters, runs across the Black Sea and is designed to supply gas to Türkiye and countries in Southeast Europe via Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary.
Like Nord Stream 1 and 2, TurkStream is part of Russia's broader strategy to diversify its gas export routes to Europe.
* Recently, international media reported that European Union (EU) officials are discussing the possibility of resuming Russian gas imports - as part of a potential peace agreement in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
German and Hungarian officials have backed the resumption of gas imports from Moscow, saying the measure could help lower energy prices in Europe and encourage Russia to engage in peace talks with Ukraine.
However, this proposal is opposed by some officials from countries with anti-Russian stance on the grounds that this move will increase Russia's export revenue and reverse Europe's efforts to reduce its dependence on Moscow's energy.
Russia expressed doubts about the feasibility of this plan.
"The EU is unlikely to be ready to restart purchases of Russian gas in the near future," said Igor Ananskikh, first deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Energy Committee.
