Secretary Nguyen Nan Nen affirmed that the current responsibility is to continue that tradition by increasingly expanding relationships and deepening in important areas such as economics, investment, trade, tourism, culture, people's diplomacy , etc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nen also thanked the Russian government for its sincere cooperation and assistance to Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general during the difficult period of the epidemic, as well as cooperation in many other fields.

Ho Chi Minh City's short-term, medium-term and long-term orientations include the necessary conditions to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, culture,education and urban management with its sister city St. Petersburg.
Even in the first quarter, although the economy still faced many difficulties, Russian investment continued to be among the highest. Mr. Nguyen Van Nen expressed his desire to promote people-to-people diplomatic cooperation, which could help other fields follow suit and develop strongly together.
Both sides expressed their hope to strengthen extensive cooperation in many fields.
Russian Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich thanked Secretary Nguyen Van Nen and Ho Chi Minh City for the reception and affirmed that bilateral relations remain unchanged despite great difficulties related to the pandemic and other major international changes.
In particular, Russian enterprises still pay special attention to the Vietnamese market and the Russian side also hopes to increase the presence of large Vietnamese enterprises in Russia; affirming that the Russian side always welcomes and creates very favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises and investors when coming to Russia.
Secretary Nguyen Van Nen gave the Russian Ambassador a souvenir of Vietnamese specialty coffee.
A gift bearing the traditional Russian mark was also presented by the Russian Ambassador to the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
Mr. Stepanovich also expressed his hope for the early resumption of direct flights between the two countries, which would create new momentum for cooperation, especially in the tourism sector, as Russian tourists are eager to return to Vietnam.
