However, according to Sergei Lavrov, Moscow is talking to Ankara about ways to ensure the country's grain exports, regardless of any deal.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres proposed to President Vladimir Putin to extend the agreement in exchange for connecting a subsidiary of the Russian Agricultural Bank to the international payment system SWIFT.
Asked about Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan's claim that Putin had made some proposals on a grain deal, Lavrov said: "I am not aware of any new proposals."
Mr. Lavrov said that Mr. Putin and Mr. Erdogan have long discussed a plan to ensure wheat supplies for developing countries independently of all other parties.
The UN and Türkiye are brokering a Black Sea grain deal in July 2022 to prevent the global food crisis from getting worse due to the conflict in Ukraine.
To persuade Russia to agree to the initiative, a three-year agreement was signed in July 2022, in which the UN agreed to help Moscow overcome obstacles to exporting agricultural products and fertilizers.
