Recently, the transportation of weapons, explosives, support tools, dangerous items and prohibited goods by air has tended to increase nationwide.
In the first months of this year, authorities have discovered many cases, including many cases of transporting drugs and other addictive substances.
In Thai Nguyen province, although no cases have been detected, the authorities have not been negligent or lack determination in fighting the above crimes.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Public Security , in the first 4 months of this year, the authorities discovered 20 cases related to the illegal transportation of prohibited goods such as weapons, explosives, support tools... via air. In particular, they arrested 24 cases of illegal transportation of drugs via airports with 17 subjects, confiscating 4.5 kg of marijuana, 4.8 kg of heroin, 15 kg of cocaine, 70 kg and 8,400 ketamine pills, 227.5 kg of synthetic drugs of all kinds.
Thai Nguyen is a locality without an airport, but is very close to Noi Bai International Airport. Moreover, it is adjacent to the border province of Lang Son and some localities that used to be hot spots for drug crimes and public order. Therefore, Thai Nguyen is a favorable location for subjects to choose as a transit point for weapons, explosives, drugs and all kinds of contraband.
Faced with the above reality, recently, the province's functional forces have strengthened preventive solutions, effectively combated and stopped the transportation of prohibited goods through airports.
The province has requested agencies, units and localities to thoroughly educate 100% of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers about the regulations prohibiting the transportation of weapons, explosives, drugs and dangerous items. Develop and implement programs and plans on preventing and combating drug crimes, ensuring security and order, combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and banned goods.
The police force plays a key role in proactively identifying, assessing, and forecasting crime situations, promptly implementing preventive measures, and stopping the transportation of prohibited goods by air.
The provincial police have deployed forces to patrol and control traffic routes, and applied information technology through security camera systems, the National Population Database, chip-embedded citizen identification cards, and specialized data serving social management and professional management to combat the above crimes.
The Department of Industry and Trade, the state management agency for industrial explosives and commercial goods, has also increased inspection and control of industrial precursors; controlled compliance with the law in e-commerce activities. It must closely coordinate with the provincial authorities to promptly detect and prevent the transportation of prohibited goods through the area.
Local authorities in the province continue to promote the movement of All People Protecting National Security in the area, improving the effectiveness of prevention and combating all types of crimes and law violations, including crimes of transporting prohibited goods...
It can be said that in recent times, solutions to prevent crimes of transporting prohibited goods by air have been actively implemented by Thai Nguyen province. However, to achieve better results, in our opinion, the functional forces alone are not enough, there must be active participation of the masses in detecting, fighting and denouncing crimes.
Along with that, local authorities must have a plan to closely coordinate with Noi Bai International Airport and other airports in the region to promptly grasp the situation, deploy preventive measures early, remotely, especially on cyberspace and through postal services...
