Tech concerns are gradually being alleviated.

Recently, digital transformation has ceased to be an option and has become a necessity for household businesses. From using QR codes for payments, multi-channel sales on social media, participating in e-commerce platforms, to applying sales management software, inventory management, and electronic invoicing… The “digitalization” process is changing the operating methods of millions of household businesses nationwide.

In particular, the shift from a lump-sum tax model to electronic tax declaration based on actual revenue is creating an urgent need for technological skills and digital management capabilities among business households. However, in reality, many small business owners still feel anxious about getting used to management software or electronic tax declaration…

Ms. Tran Phuong Lien, the owner of a shop at Phuoc My Market, An Hai Ward, Da Nang City, shared that despite being informed and guided, she still had concerns about submitting electronic tax returns. “Our biggest worry is making mistakes or submitting reports late, leading to penalties. Long-time traditional traders like us are not familiar with data entry or using computer software,” Ms. Lien said.

It's not just Ms. Lien; in many markets and grocery stores throughout the city, a reluctance to embrace technology remains quite common. Many business owners worry about the cost of investing in equipment, the ability to use software, or the risk of errors during operation.

In light of this situation, credit institutions in Da Nang City have proactively stepped in to support businesses in accessing digital financial solutions, electronic payments, and modern management. Beyond providing banking services, many institutions have also directly guided and partnered with small business owners in their digital transformation process.

Specifically, to support small business owners, Vietcombank Nam Da Nang and the Da Nang City Tax Department have signed a cooperation agreement on coordinating tax policy guidance and supporting business households in digitally transitioning from lump-sum tax to online tax declaration. Accordingly, the bank will work with the Tax Department to implement electronic payment solutions, open accounts, pay taxes electronically, and support the use of digital banking channels...

A representative from Vietcombank's South Da Nang branch stated that the unit aims to provide businesses with modern and secure financial solutions. This contributes to promoting digital transformation and supporting the sustainable development of the local business community.

Similarly, BIDV Da Nang also collaborates with the local tax authorities to implement various solutions to support business households in optimizing costs and improving management efficiency through digital payment accounts, QR code revenue management tools, balance change notifications, and connections with reputable payment software. Notably, BIDV also offers preferential credit packages for individuals, business households, and small businesses transitioning from the household business model, contributing to facilitating people's access to capital and expanding their production and business activities.

Beyond simply signing cooperation agreements or providing financial solutions, many credit institutions in Da Nang City are also directly going door-to-door to support small business owners in familiarizing themselves with digital technology.

For example, Agribank's Hoa Vang branch in South Da Nang has organized numerous campaigns to promote and advise on digital transformation for business households in markets, streets, and residential areas from Hoa Vang commune to Ba Na... At each location, bank staff directly guided small traders in opening payment accounts, registering for digital banking, installing QR codes, and advising on cashless payment solutions and sales management.

In addition, credit institutions also support business households in accessing electronic invoicing software, cloud-based invoice storage services, POS and PhonePOS payments, etc. This helps to gradually standardize sales processes, document storage, and build data for tax declaration and revenue management.

Alongside the support from the banking sector, relevant authorities and technology companies are also implementing many practical support programs to promote digital transformation for household businesses in the city.

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the People's Committee of Da Nang City, and other relevant units, announced a pilot plan to support digital transformation for wholesale and retail stores and businesses in the area.

According to the program, business households will receive free consultation on digital solutions suitable for their scale of operation; support in using sales management software, digital signatures, electronic invoices, and AI-integrated e-commerce websites. At the same time, business households will also be guided in building their brand on digital platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, TikTok, creating Google Maps locations, and accessing online promotional tools.

Many technology and banking companies such as VNPT, Viettel, Misa, Sapo, Vietcombank, BIDV, MB, Nam A Bank, MoMo, KiotViet… also participate in supporting free digital platforms and management tools through various programs. Through these solutions, businesses can reduce operating costs, improve management efficiency, expand customer reach, and increase transparency in their business operations.

Currently, Da Nang has nearly 100,000 retail stores and businesses. This force plays a crucial role in the local economy, contributing to boosting domestic consumption, creating jobs, and stabilizing the supply chain.

According to Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, the city aims to have over 90% of business households advised, guided, and supported in experiencing digital platforms by the end of November 2026.

"We recognize this as a very important force. With proper support and effective application of digital transformation, household businesses will make a significant contribution to the city's digital economic growth," Mr. Ho Quang Buu emphasized.
