
According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on the night of June 2nd and the early morning of June 3rd, the Southern region and Lam Dong province experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas receiving very heavy rainfall. Several stations recorded significant rainfall amounts from 7 PM on June 2nd to 3 AM on June 3rd, such as Thanh Hoa (Tay Ninh province) with 155mm, Dong Phu (Dong Nai city) with 132mm, Kien Duc (Lam Dong province) with 98mm, and Phu Quoc special zone ( An Giang province) with 85.2mm.
The meteorological agency forecasts that during the day and night of June 3-6, the Southern region and Lam Dong province will experience widespread rainfall of 20-50mm, with some areas receiving over 100mm. Rain will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall could exceed 80mm within 3 hours.
On the afternoon and evening of June 3rd, some areas in the Central Highlands, the eastern part of Gia Lai, Dak Lak , and Khanh Hoa provinces also experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall generally ranging from 10-30mm, and locally exceeding 70mm in some places.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Deputy Head of the Weather Forecasting Department (National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting), from April 4th to 6th, heavy rainfall in the Southern region and Lam Dong province is expected to gradually decrease.
