According to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, from July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates can register, adjust, and add admission wishes an unlimited number of times.
Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, said that with the Ministry of Education and Training's Admission Registration System, candidates only need to perform 3 steps: Enter the order of their wishes; Choose a school; Choose a major. Then click save to complete.
“The rest, the Ministry of Education and Training’s system will be responsible for considering admission for each candidate’s registered wish. For each wish, the system will calculate and automatically select the candidate’s highest score to use for admission. Thus, candidates do not need to register for combinations, starting points of exams... The software system will calculate this task for candidates. 100% guarantee that no candidate will be selected for a lower combination or score calculation method for admission,” said Mr. Hai.
Professor Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), said that if a major has 4-5 combinations or many methods, the Ministry of Education and Training's system will automatically choose the combination/method with the highest score of the candidate for consideration.
Professor Thao noted that the admission process of each school is independent and is only for reference to that particular school. Registering your wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's Admission System is mandatory and final. "If candidates register on the school's system but not on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission portal, it is meaningless. In case candidates have not registered any wishes on the school's system, they can still register on the Ministry of Education and Training's System and this is considered the official channel for all," said Mr. Thao.

MSc. Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Head of the Training Management Department of Foreign Trade University, said that the strategy of selecting and ranking university admission wishes is very important.
First of all, when placing your wishes on the Ministry of Education and Training's Admission System, candidates can divide their wishes into 3 groups. The first is the safe group - you can place 3 wishes at the bottom. "We can look at which majors/programs in previous years had lower admission scores than our score," said Ms. Ha.
The second is the target group, "suitable" for the total score they have. In this group, candidates can register for 3 or more wishes.
The third is the "dream" group, which includes 3-4 wishes for the majors/schools we like, but last year's admission score may be a little higher than our score. These wishes are placed at the top.
In addition, according to Ms. Ha, when placing your wishes on the Admissions System, do not limit or choose too few wishes. "The Ministry's system does not limit the number of wishes, the important thing is that we find it suitable," Ms. Ha said.
In particular, according to Ms. Ha, candidates should list their preferences in order of preference. “That is, whichever preference you like the most, put it at the top, then in descending order. Because the system will filter from top to bottom,” Ms. Ha advised.
The final principle is that candidates should not focus on just one school. “For example, candidates who love economics and business can choose to study at Foreign Trade University, National Economics University, Academy of Finance...”, Ms. Ha said.
According to the 2025 university and college admissions guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, from August 13 to 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will upload data, admission information; high school graduation exam scores; high school study results on the System; exam scores... (if any) and organize admissions.
The Ministry of Education and Training also processes the System to determine the highest wish among the wishes for which the candidate is eligible to be admitted.
By 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system. Review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule.
Training institutions will notify candidates who have passed the first round before 5:00 p.m. on August 22. Candidates confirm their admission online on the System before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
