(HNMO) - The mid-term conference of the 13th Party Central Committee opened on the morning of May 15 in Hanoi .
In the morning, the Party Central Committee worked in the hall.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired and delivered the opening speech at the conference.
Comrade Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and President, chaired the conference on behalf of the Politburo.
Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organization Commission, on behalf of the Politburo, reported on the mid-term conference program of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Prime Minister, presented a summary report reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Secretariat during the mid-term and a number of key tasks until the end of the 13th National Party Congress term.
The Central Executive Committee of the Party has decided on the following contents:
1. The Party Central Committee decided to impose disciplinary action by expelling from the Party comrade Nguyen Van Vinh, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of the Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Lao Cai province.
2. The Party Central Committee voted and agreed to let comrade Nguyen Phu Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, cease to hold the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
3. Provide opinions on personnel of a number of Central agencies so that the Politburo can decide to introduce them to the 15th National Assembly for election and approval according to regulations at the fifth session.
Afternoon: The Party Central Committee worked in groups to discuss the Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Secretariat during the mid-term and a number of key tasks until the end of the 13th Party Congress term; Report on the personal review of comrades of the Politburo and Secretariat of the 13th tenure.
