A quick report from the Department of Education and Training said that on the first day of the exam, 9 candidates were absent from both Literature and Math. On the first day of the exam, all exam sites were safe, serious, and in accordance with regulations, with no violations of exam regulations.

Candidates said that the Math and Literature exams on the first day were not specialized exams so they were not too difficult. Many candidates said that with the Math and Literature exams, they would be able to get 8 or 9 points.

Vo Van Dong, a student at Luong The Vinh Secondary School, said that this year's Literature exam has a comprehension level of 45%, application level of 35% and high application level of 20%. In the reading comprehension section, the materials outside the textbook are literary texts according to the genres of the 2018 generaleducation program. In the writing section, write a paragraph of about 200 words recording your feelings about his mood in stanzas 1 and 2 and write a social argumentative essay. For the Math subject, the comprehension level is 20%, the application level is 80%. The questions are mainly in the knowledge of the 9th grade program.

Waiting for his child at the entrance of Luong The Vinh Secondary School, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, in Ward 5, Tuy Hoa City, said: “This year, the Department of Education and Training will not organize entrance exams for grade 10 at public high schools but will instead switch to the selection method. Based on his academic record, my child has been admitted to Nguyen Hue High School, so when he took the entrance exam for grade 10 specializing in Physics at Luong Van Chanh Specialized High School, he was in a good mood. After the first day of the exam, he said he was able to get a 7 in Literature and a 9 in Math. I hope he will do well in the remaining two exams.”

On the morning of June 3, candidates will take the English exam, with a duration of 60 minutes; on the afternoon of June 3, candidates will take the specialized subject exam, with a duration of 150 minutes. For Literature and specialized subjects, candidates will take an essay test, for Math, candidates will take an essay test combined with multiple choice, and for English, candidates will take a multiple choice test.
