The 2nd round of the Fire Fighting and Rescue Sports Competition - Region 3 is an activity within the framework of the 9th "For National Security" Sports Festival Program in 2025 of the Ministry of Public Security; with the participation of 13 teams from the police of the provinces: Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Da Nang city and Hue city.

At the competition, 13 teams will compete in theoretical and practical events such as: Firefighting and rescue command; rescue swimming; 4x100m firefighting and rescue relay race.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Major General Nguyen Dinh Hoan - Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ministry of Public Security said that in recent times, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force has resolutely implemented the directions of the Party, Government, and Ministry of Public Security on ensuring fire prevention, fighting, and rescue safety.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force nationwide has participated in many fire and rescue incidents; directly rescued and guided hundreds of people to escape; organized the movement and saved tens of billions of VND worth of property. These results have contributed to minimizing human and property damage caused by fires, explosions, accidents, and incidents, creating a safe living environment for people, and have been recognized and commended by leaders and people at all levels.

Major General Nguyen Dinh Hoan requested the Competition Referee Board to work impartially and objectively to select the best teams to participate in the final round. The competing teams and athletes must be calm, confident, uphold the spirit of self-awareness, honesty, and nobility, compete with the spirit of learning and helping each other to improve.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Fire prevention and fighting plays an extremely important role in social life. Fires can happen anytime, anywhere and cause many serious consequences. Improving knowledge and training in fire prevention and fighting and rescue skills is not only the task of the functional forces but also the responsibility of each individual and organization.

In Nghe An, closely following the direction of the Central Government, based on the practical situation and the nature of the area, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee always pay attention to leading and directing the work of fire prevention and fighting and search and rescue. In particular, the fire prevention and rescue police force of Nghe An Provincial Police is focused on developing to be more and more disciplined, elite and modern; regularly training, coaching skills, expertise, improving combat health, promptly participating in search and rescue, rescuing people, property and serving the people, making an important contribution to the overall development of the country and Nghe An province.

The Organizing Committee also awarded the First Prize to Nghe An Provincial Police, the Second Prize to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police and the Third Prize to Binh Dinh Provincial Police. These will be the 3 teams representing Region 3 to participate in the Final Round held in Hanoi in the near future.

In 2024, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force nationwide directly participated in firefighting, rescue, and rescue of more than 3,300 fire and explosion cases and 1,800 accidents, guiding hundreds of trapped people to safety, directly rescuing 477 people in fires and rescuing more than 5,500 people in incidents and accidents. Particularly, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force of Nghe An participated in firefighting, rescue, and rescue of more than 100 cases, rescuing 60 victims; was admired, commended, and rewarded by the Party Committee, government, and people.
