Nghe An welcomes 255,000 visitors during National Day holiday September 2

Nghe An tourism during this year's National Day holiday recorded a significant decline as the number of visitors and revenue were much lower than the same period in 2024, especially at coastal tourist destinations.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, during the 4-day holiday (August 30 - September 2, 2025), Nghe An welcomed about 255,000 visitors, including 85,000 overnight guests; total tourism revenue is estimated at 519 billion VND.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of visitors and revenue have both decreased significantly. In 2024, Nghe An welcomed about 320,000 visitors (110,000 stays), with total tourism revenue reaching more than 635 billion VND. Thus, in 2025, Nghe An will decrease by about 65,000 visitors (equivalent to nearly 20.3%) and nearly 116 billion VND in revenue (nearly 18.3%).

Except for the Kim Lien National Special Relic Site, which still maintains a relatively stable number of visitors, most other tourist areas and destinations have recorded a decrease. The main reason is that this year's holiday coincides with the event of the parade and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day at Ba Dinh Square (Hanoi), attracting special attention from people, especially in the North Central region.

Besides, the impact of storms, big waves and murky sea water also makes tourists hesitant when choosing to stay at beach resorts such as Cua Lo beach, Dien Thanh beach, Dien Thanh beach...
