Consumers tend to choose products of domestic enterprises because of good quality and reasonable prices.

Dominate the market

The school supplies market is at its busiest time of the year. The popularity of Vietnamese goods is no longer just a slogan “Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods” but has become a clear trend, reflected in both consumption volume, brand recognition and trust from consumers. From books, pens, pencil cases, backpacks, to smart products such as anti-hunchback desks, anti-myopia study lamps, Vietnamese goods have affirmed their quality and met the diverse needs of the market.

At the Hebec Bookstore of Hai Duong Books and Educational Equipment Joint Stock Company, the number of shoppers doubled in the last days of August, reaching about 200 - 300 visits per day. Mr. Vu Chi Viet, Director of the company, commented: "Vietnamese goods currently account for about 80% of the total products in the bookstore system. Customers have more choices, from products priced at only a few thousand VND to several hundred thousand VND. Parents are always interested in products with clear origins, beautiful designs and safety for children."

Similarly, a representative of Fahasa Bookstore at Aeon Mall Hai Phong Le Chan said that Vietnamese goods are "covering the airwaves" thanks to improvements in design and quality. While many people used to prefer imported goods, now products such as notebooks, pens, and anti-hunchback backpacks from Vietnamese brands are winning over consumers. Reasonable prices, designs updated according to trends, and smart features are key factors. This consistent improvement has created an image of durability - beauty - good price in the eyes of consumers.

Improve quality and design

In recent years, many domestic enterprises have continuously invested in product research to improve both technical and form. Brands such as Hong Ha, Thien Long, Hai Tien… have increasingly affirmed their position with a series of products with modern designs, safe for health, environmentally friendly and meeting the needs of each age group of students.

Notebooks with good quality paper, ensuring safety for users, no glare or ink absorption. Pens write evenly, durable, non-toxic. School backpacks are designed to prevent spinal curvature and shoulder deviation. Some high-end products such as anti-hunchback study desks and anti-myopia study lamps, which previously relied heavily on imports from Japan or Korea, are now also developed by Vietnamese enterprises, with no inferior quality.

A survey of many bookstores and stationery stores in Hai Phong city shows that the prices of Vietnamese school supplies are very competitive. Student notebooks cost from 9,000 to 25,000 VND/book; ballpoint pens and ink pens cost from 3,000 to 200,000 VND/piece; highlighters and erasers cost from 8,000 to 20,000 VND/piece...

At the Hebec bookstore of Hai Duong Books and Educational Equipment Joint Stock Company, three sets of textbooks belonging to the primary education program "Connecting knowledge with life" and "Creative horizon" (Vietnam Education Publishing House), the book set "Canh Dieu" (Hanoi Pedagogical University Publishing House and Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University Publishing House) are being sold at prices ranging from 180,000 - 210,000 VND/set, a reduction of about 15 - 30% compared to the previous school year. This is the result of the publisher's price stabilization policy, combined with support programs from distribution units during the peak school season.

A representative of Fahasa Bookstore at Aeon Mall Hai Phong Le Chan Shopping Center said: “Not only stopping at implementing promotional programs or product packages with gifts, many brands also invest in launching new collections specifically for the back-to-school season, helping to increase the variety of choices for students. Some businesses also coordinate with Fahasa to organize Back to School events at large shopping centers, contributing to creating a vibrant shopping atmosphere and promoting the consumption of Vietnamese goods. These activities not only bring practical benefits to consumers, but also affirm the growing position and reputation of Vietnamese goods in the market."

Ms. Pham Thi Huong in Thanh Dong ward (Hai Phong city) prepares school supplies for her children before the new school year and shares: "I see that school supplies made in Vietnam have diverse designs and models and are of high quality, so the children really like them."

Not only appearing in bookstores and convenience stores, Vietnamese goods also account for more than 80% on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Tiki, Lazada. The fact that consumers increasingly pay attention to factors of clear origin, evaluate products through real feedback, and many flexible promotional programs are the reasons why Vietnamese goods become the top choice.

Guaranteed quality, reasonable prices, and clear origins are the advantages of high-quality Vietnamese goods in general and school supplies in particular. These products are gradually gaining the trust of customers. This is also a good sign, creating opportunities for businesses to constantly improve and enhance product quality, meeting the increasing needs of customers.
