At the meeting, the Chairpersons of the People's Committees of the communes reported on the local situation after the merger. They also raised some difficulties and proposed investment needs for the construction of irrigation systems to serve the production and lives of the people.

Accordingly, the irrigation and drainage system in the communes currently basically meets the needs for agricultural production. However, after many years of use, many first and second-level canals have deteriorated, become silted up, and suffered landslides. The rate of canal reinforcement is still low, resulting in significant water loss, difficulty in regulating flow, and weak canals at the end of the line.

Furthermore, the current network of irrigation canals is inadequate and not synchronized with the main infrastructure. Some temporary sluices and dams are damaged and require timely repair and upgrading. Some canals, after many years of operation, have not received investment for dredging and clearing of waterways.
Currently, some irrigation ditches have become silted up. Bushes have grown densely along the ditches, hindering drainage and frequently causing widespread flooding of rice paddies and other crops.

During the meeting, the localities proposed several items, including: requesting financial support to invest in several projects to dredge streams to prevent flooding in the fields; and investing in the construction of several irrigation canals to serve new agricultural irrigation needs...

Following the working session, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc Phuc conducted a field survey of the proposed locations for the construction of irrigation projects. He also requested that relevant departments and agencies record their observations and provide feedback, which will serve as the basis for proposing to higher authorities the early approval of investment projects based on the local opinions.
