On September 28, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province announced that the Department had just sent a document to communes, wards, affiliated units, Ha Tinh University, colleges and intermediate schools in the province about allowing students to stay home from school due to the storm.

According to the Department, with the very high risk of storms directly affecting Ha Tinh province on September 28 and 29, it is forecasted that Ha Tinh will have very heavy rain, with the possibility of major flooding.

Therefore, this department recommends that localities and educational institutions allow students of all levels in the province to take a day off on September 29.

Depending on the development of storms, floods and the actual situation in localities, educational institutions can consider the decision to extend the school break for a suitable period of time to ensure the safety of students and teachers.

Previously, on September 26, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh also issued a document requesting units and educational establishments to closely monitor the developments of storm No. 10, proactively respond to storms and rains according to the "four on-the-spot" motto; maintain regular contact with the command committees for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue at all levels, and request local rescue forces to support when necessary.

Based on the developments of storm No. 10, organize 24/7 duty, develop a plan to move files, documents, machinery, equipment, tables and chairs to a safe place to avoid damage.

Comprehensively review and inspect school and classroom facilities in the area, especially degraded structures that are at risk of being unsafe in the event of heavy rain, floods, landslides, inundation, etc.

At noon of the same day, Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training - said that due to the impact of storms and rain, the department decided that tomorrow morning, September 29, all schools in the province will be closed to ensure absolute safety for students and schools.
