Nghe An: Highlights of September 28th

* On the morning of September 28th, in Vinh City, the 10th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association, for the term 2023-2028, opened its plenary session with 304 delegates representing the strength of unity, will, and aspirations of nearly 500,000 farmer members throughout the province attending the Congress.

* At the 10th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association, term 2023-2028, Ms. Bui Thi Thom - Vice President of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association - provided guidance and direction for the Association's work and the farmers' movement in the province. She emphasized: Continue to develop the Association's work and the farmers' movement in Nghe An province to be strong, commensurate with the tasks and meeting new requirements.

* Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province - requested that the Nghe An Farmers' Association more clearly demonstrate its role in promoting a change in farmers' production mindset to adapt to new conditions.

* On the morning of September 28th, at the plenary session, the 10th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association, term 2023-2028, elected 40 comrades to the Executive Committee who meet the prescribed standards and conditions; ensuring comprehensive leadership, continuity, and development. Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung was re-elected as Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association for the 10th term, 2023-2028.

* At the invitation of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, along with a delegation from Nghe An province, traveled to Cuba to attend the opening session of the 10th Congress of the Cuban Committee for the Defense of the Revolution.

* Nghe An province has moved up two places to the top 6 in attracting the most foreign investment in the country during the first nine months of 2023. This information was recently announced by the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment .

* On the morning of September 28th, at the Museum of Military Region 4, the Army Youth Committee, in coordination with the Political Departments of Military Region 4 units, the Armored Corps, the 1st Army Corps; the Military Command of Nghe An province, Brigade 80, Brigade 283, the Youth Union of the Nghe An Provincial Police, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, the Vinh University Youth Union... organized the "Army Youth and Traffic Culture" festival in 2023.

* During the heavy rains in Nghe An province on September 26-27, Quy Chau district suffered the most severe damage, with over 1,000 households flooded. After the water receded, many structures and crops in the area were severely damaged, and people's property was submerged in mud.
