Nghe An accelerates construction of two water reservoirs.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued Notice No. 421 on resolving difficulties and obstacles related to the Ban Mong Reservoir Project and the Ke Ninh Reservoir Project.

Accordingly, for the Ban Mong Reservoir Project, Phase 1, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De assigned the Agricultural and Environmental Project Management Board to appoint one Deputy Director to directly supervise the project site; and to report on the implementation status to the Provincial People's Committee every 10 days.

The relevant units need to urgently review the Chau Binh drainage canal project, the final section of the box culvert connecting the bridge abutments, and address the access road to auxiliary dam 3 (the flooded section) to prepare adjustment and supplementary documents for submission to the competent authority as prescribed; at the same time, they should urge and direct the construction unit to complete the reinforcement of the Chau Binh drainage canal before August 15, 2026.

Existing problems and obstacles, especially those related to land clearance, must be resolved completely; construction units must complete the following items: Ban Le 1 culvert, Ban Le 3 culvert and Khe Ba bridge, Ke Ninh bridge before July 30, 2026.

The People's Committee of Nghe An province has instructed the People's Committee of Chau Binh commune to urge the construction units to focus all resources and direct them to ensure the completion of the Ke Khoang Cemetery and the resettlement area behind auxiliary dam 1 before June 30, 2026.

Regarding the three production zones, the Provincial People's Committee requested the completion of the handover of the entire site to the construction unit for the two zones where contractors have already been selected before June 30, 2026; and urged the construction unit to concentrate manpower and equipment to ensure completion before October 30, 2026.

Simultaneously, develop a detailed plan for implementation, ensuring completion before December 31, 2026. Expeditiously finalize land valuation and related procedures to relocate residents to the Dốc 77 resettlement area before August 15, 2026.

Regarding the Ke Ninh Reservoir Project, Nghe An province has instructed the People's Committee of Quy Chau commune to urgently review obstacles related to the conversion of natural forests and dam embankment land to propose solutions. In case of difficulties or obstacles arising during implementation, they should proactively work with the Departments of Agriculture and Environment and Finance for guidance and resolution according to regulations. The construction unit should be urged to expedite the completion of the project, especially ensuring the safety of the structure during the rainy season.
